1. Make sure you have read and understand the waiver document.
Please read and answer ALL the questions in the online process. Your registration will be considered as INCOMPLETE if this is ignored.
2. Make sure you have read and understand the volunteer commitment
3. Make sure you have read and understand the new bingo format
4. If you are BANTAM age and are trying out for NWCAA, please mail in a POST DATED
cheque IN FULL for October 1,2010. This is the only exemption for fees.
5. To complete your registration, you must mail in your bingo deposit cheque.
This needs to be recieved to complete your registration.
6. If you are new to the association, you will need to include a copy of your child(s) birth certificate with your bingo deposit cheque.

You will receive an email with your bingo date. These bingo dates start in September as the BHBHA is in agreement with the BCA and its bingo to supply volunteers from September 1st to March 31st, 2011. Bingo emails will start to be emailed out the last two weeks of July. If you wish to work your bingo during the summer months, you can contact the bingo hall at 403-288-8300 on bingo nights to book. They are always looking for volunteers.
Bingos are a massive administrative effort, and we will not be able to reschedule your bingo date. The onus is on the Member to ensure that their bingo commitment is fulfilled on the date scheduled. Also, as a result of the actions of some of our Members over the last few years, the Bowness Community Association will no longer assist our Members in covering their bingo shift.

Volunteer Requirement

Overview
The Bow River Bruins Hockey Association (“BRBHA”) is a non-profit hockey association that is run through a volunteer board of directors, executives, and coordinators. The hockey program will only be successful so long as there is a commitment to volunteering by each and every family registered in the BRBHA.
Registration Requirement - Volunteering
The BRBHA requires a volunteer commitment as a condition of registration. This can be fulfilled through:
1) The active participation at the team level:
HEAD COACH
CARDED ASSISTANT COACH
TEAM MANAGER
TEAM TREASURER
2) The active participation at the EXECUTIVE level:
ANY EXECUTIVE OR OFFICER POSITION
ANY COORDINATOR
3) Working ONE (1) Bowness Sportsplex facility bingo.
The BRBHA requires a volunteer deposit from all member families in the form of an undated cheque payable to the BRBHA for $200. This cheque will be destroyed once the completion of your volunteer commitment is confirmed.
Facility Bingos ***NEW FORMAT THIS SEASON***
As a condition of receiving our current ice allocation from the Bowness Sportsplex, we are committed contractually in providing the required volunteers for the Bowness Community Association’s bingo during the hockey season. In order for the Bowness Sportsplex to continue to operate and stay open, the income from the bingo operation is necessary.
For all members choosing to fulfill their volunteer commitment by working a facility bingo you will be provided a date for your bingo. As this is a massive administrative effort, we will not be able to reschedule your bingo date provided. The onus is on the Member to ensure that their bingo commitment is fulfilled on the date scheduled. As a result of the actions of some of our Members over the last few years, the Bowness Community Association will no longer assist our Members in covering their bingo shift.
Bingos are held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 5:00PM to10:00PM at the Bowness Sportsplex and is a smoke free environment
Bingo No Shows ***NEW FORMAT THIS SEASON***
Once scheduled, it is the responsibility of the Member to ensure attendance. In the event that the Member’s bingo shift is not filled, their $200 volunteer cheque will be dated and cashed. The bingo will be rescheduled and a replacement $200 cheque will be required immediately.
Bingo Buyout
The cost of the bingo buyout is $300. A portion of every buyout goes to help assist the BRBHA with funding for kids in need within our Association.
Bingo Exemptions
Executive and board members, coordinators, people who have been selected as head coaches, assistant coaches, team managers and those who purchased the bingo buyout are exempt from working the facility bingo.
Working Bingos in lieu of Registration Fees
Bingos can be worked in lieu of registration fees only during the period of April 1 – August 31 each year. A $32 credit will be applied for each facility bingo worked during this period over and beyond the required Facility Bingo.

Fee Refunds
Fee refunds for non-injury withdrawal will be provided as follows:
- notice provided before August 15th - Fee less $25
- notice provided before October 1 – Fee less $150
- notice provided before December 1 – Fee less $300
- notice provided after December 1 – no refund will be provided
Fee refunds for injury related withdrawal will be provided as follows:
- Fee (less $150) prorated by month over the remainder of the season. No refund after February 1.
- Notice of injury refunds must be accompanied by a physician’s letter outlining the injury.

Timbits-$475
Novice-$725
Atom-$775
Pee Wee-$850
Bantam-$900
Additional Late fees will be added(Except Timbits)
July 1, 2010- $100
And another -$100 August 1,2010
