SPORTS NUTRITION – Virtual Workshop – October 23rd

This year, we are pleased to announce that we will be presenting a virtual workshop on SPORTS NUTRITION.  Healthy nutrition is critical for all children’s development – both as a young person and as a young hockey player.  Whether it is day-to-day healthy eating, game day  pre and post fueling options, or overall wellness, nutrition plays a vital role in all of our young athletes lives.

For our U11 and above athletes, we will be offering a FREE online virtual workshop on sports nutrition, presented by the nutritionist for our Canadian National and Olympic teams.

We understand that there are certainly dietary and nutrition differences between U11 and U18 groups.  Some of our young athletes cook their own meals, others are unable to open the pantry door without calling for assistance.  So we have broken our groups into U18, U15 and a combined U13/U11. I tried to schedule everything so the most number of teams could attend.  However I do know there are some conflicts.  For the U18 group, you are welcome to join the U15 group and vice versa.

We hope that everyone can join and discover some keys to sports nutrition success!

About our sports nutrition presenter:

Kelly Anne Erdman, Msc, RD, CSSD, is a nutrition consultant with the Canadian Sport Institute in Calgary providing nutrition services for the Olympic & World Championship-bound athletes including the following Canadian national teams: Women’s Hockey, Men’s Sledge Hockey, Long Track Speed Skating, Paralympic Cycling, Luge Canada as well as Athletics Canada-Decathlete Damian Warner.

From a competitive sport perspective, Kelly Anne Erdman was a member of the Canadian Cycling team from 1985 – 1992. Competed in 7 World Championships and the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.

She definitely has an incredible resume (and actually has been quite busy getting ready for the upcoming winter Olympics) and has come highly recommended for youth and athletic nutrition.
