Getting a Police Check
At Bow River we value the time and commitment our volunteers give to the players of our association. As part of our Volunteer Screening Process, a Police Information Check is required of all on-ice and bench staff. This is a simple on-line process with the Calgary Police Service through their Police Information Check system, and we thank you for taking the time to complete this application. Your completed check will be valid with Hockey Canada for a period of 3 years.
If you are unsure if your Police Check is still valid with Hockey Canada, you can log into your HCR 3.0 account to see when you will need to renew. If it is not listed with your other qualifications, it was never shared with Bow River. Click the button below for instructions on how to check your certifications in HCR 3.0.
If you have a hard copy of a valid check, you may scan and send it to admin@bowriverhockey.ca for our records.
In June 2023, CPS changed their PIC system. You no longer need a volunteer letter to apply, but you do need a pre-paid electronic voucher. This can be obtained by emailing the name and email you wish to use for your police check to admin@bowriverhockey.ca. The BRBHA Admin will send you your voucher. If you do not get an electronic voucher, CPS will charge you for the service. For detailed instructions on the new system, click the button below.
